This incredibly tuff lil’ 34 rat rod ute is one of the many that we tune and maintain down here at Southside Dyno.
It is owned by our favorite nut case Wayne (Weet Bix) Sampson.
It runs a 383 chev punching out over a dollar (horse power) per cubic inch and that is before he even hits the Nitrous button. This vehicle was featured in Queensland Street Car a little while back and is a true 10.1 second street car.
When ever it hits the track its pilot Weet Bix puts on a show that never disappoints.

    Bipolar 383 Chev Mazda 1000

    One of our more recent creations here at Southside Dyno is this rather unusual little Mazda 1000 ute. Well at least whats left of a 1000. For all intensive purposes it’s a purpose built space frame supporting a shell which resembles a Mazda. Recently you may have seen it featured in Queensland Street Car magazine. A small piece was published on its build.

    It runs a four link rear end which has a firm grip on a nine inch rear end with strange internals. In front of that is a very well built power glide transmission, a five thousand rpm stall converter, pushed down the quarter mile by a 383 cubic inch Chevrolet small block running a large roller cam. Some good internals all fueled by methanol.
    We were lucky enough to pick up sponsorship along the way. So far little bipolar Mazda is running mid to low tens.

    Nissan S13 1JZGTE secret weapon

    This is one of our favorite toys here at Southside Dyno.
    At first glance it may just look like no-more than a 1JZ in an S13, although under closer inspection one would discover it is a fully built race car capable of everything from drift, to hill-climb and full bore circuit racing.
    The owner has invested a lot of  funds, also a lot of his own time into the development of this beast.. including handling improvements, such as a full custom weld in 6 point cage, fully adjustable suspension and increased steering lock modifications and a near full race interior, just to name a few.

    The fierce 1JZgte was built from the ground up here at Southside Dyno.
    This package was custom designed to meet the customers requirements, capable of regular track punishment, whilst still being a reliable drivable  road-registered street car.

    The build included, blue printing, aftermarket Conrods, Forged Pistons, Race rings and Bearings, An ATI Balancer, Crower Camshafts, Valve springs to Suit, Titanium retainers and locks, adjustable cam gears and MLS-R Gaskets Without going into too much detail.
    Every part assembled, measured and final checked to assure absolute harmony in the Final Product.

    All of this is brought to life and controlled by a  Link G4 Storm engine management system.
    Fully stand-alone wiring system, which controls everything from the dashboard, to the MSD ignition system, multiple stage boost control and monitoring systems to prevent engine damage.
    All fitted and tuned by the boys here at Southside Dyno

    This Silvia easily punches out in excess of 450+rwhp on pump Gas on minimal boost, for countless laps of reliability and repeatable track performance without pushing any limits or needing a tow home.

    1976 Camaro Supercharged Outlaw

    This 1976 Camaro drag car runs in Supercharged Outlaws. It has a 540 cubic inch Chev engine with a Mooningham 1471 blower running on Methanol. Pete is the owner and creator of this vehicle being responsible for nine tenths of it’s modifications from the frame and paint to building the engine. Our part included the wiring and configuring of the Camaro’s M.P.E data logging system. We also take care of the data acquisition and most of the cars electrical systems.

    At the moment the Camaro is running between 1400-1500 hp. The engine is still being run in and is capable of over 2000 hp. At the winter nationals this year it ran a 7.8 second down the quarter mile, not bad keeping in mind that this is its first race since it had a bumper to bumper redesign.
